Former President's

Former President Bill Clinton was in Beaumont, TX today stumping for Hillary, and unfortunately I couldn't make it, but from local news, it looks like he drummed up some support for Hillary.

I am not sure if I can make a decision on whom to vote for right now. I haven't been able to really get my teeth around the details of the difference between Obama & Hillary but I'm going to do some reading this weekend.

Now onto this Osborn amendment to the Lands Bill. What is wrong with America? http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/20/opinion/20wed3.html
I can't believe that the NRA now wants the American public to give the gun-toting public the opportunity to poach on Federal lands. Yes, I can. Never let it be said the America public was intelligent. Does Senator Coburn actually believe that having a live firearm on National Park land will prevent a rape from happening? How naive must this man be? Carrying a live firearm in Yellowstone National Park will only encourage some drunk idiot, or God forbid, sober hunter, to take potshots at the animals that live in the park. Come on people.

And another thing, what are the statistics for rapes in National Parks? It isn't like you can't carry an empty gun onto these lands. Why would you want to drive around a National Park with a loaded gun? Again, either to start something or end someone's life. I guess if we will allow the NRA to get us to go for guns in Church, schools, and workplaces, we should just kowtow to their agenda of allowing guns into every last vestige of our lives.... And with their doctrines, the membership would probably be just as happy to have all of us shoot & kill each other.

It's pathetic the way the NRA has made us all a bunch of patsy's. I'm all for having the public own guns, but not at the expense of public safety. If you want to own a gun, then you apply for a license, have a background check done, and if all is good, then 3 days later, BINGO, you are the proud owner of a .38 snubnose. Why is it such a necessary civil right to be able to buy a gun, immediately? Especially in this day and age of being able to "get it now". I am at a loss for why the American public is able to wake up each day without the help of the NRA.
