It has been a while since I last posted... Not that anything earth shattering has occurred, but there have been several things that have gone on.....
The economy has tanked, and for my 2 cents there is enough blame on what / why the economy has tanked to go around. I just hope that cooler heads prevail when trying to get "us" back on track and out of debt ----
Chris is back to work, however, with the economy like it is, he may not have a job for long -- I'm trying to sock away $$ for those "rainy" days that I know are coming, I just don't have the crystal ball to tell me when they will get here....
Kevin & I have come the to decision/agreement that we will sell "iola" to the Iola Independent School District. I did not come to this decision lightly; emotionally I don't want to sell Iola:
My earliest memory is making mud pies in the old drive way ---
Daddy's fingers being cut off by the lawn mower,
Rikki, MeMe's bird,
Papa taking us to town on saturday morning
Swimming in the stock pond
Mother moving up there after Daddy died --
me moving there with mother in '90
then again in '99-'00 -- I love going up there --- and I need to make it a point to go up on Nov. 5 and Mar 12, May 1, May 30, and June 30
I would like to buy some small acreage up there and build a small house ( large den, kitchen, bath, bedroom, study --- but that will come later --- I am sorry that we didn't keep it -- I would have liked to have retired up there on that piece of property --- and if I think about this too long I feel so guilty about selling it --- I realize that when Papa and Miss Emma bought the place they never thought that it would be considered "in town" ---
Some where along about Thanksgiving, I made the decision to purchase a dachshund -- I bought a little black & tan male --- his name with the AKC is "Maxwell Smart Turner" --
best picture i can get right now, but he's so cute... 2nd set of shots yesterday (1/2/09) --
All for now...
