I think what we are seeing in the political/business landscape is the American Voting Public has seen the "crap" that has been voted into Congress/State Legislature, and has figured out the most of what they have put into watching out for "We The People"s government are incompetent, ideologically-driven, Evangelical conservatives that have no earthly clue what a conservative is. If you agree with my point of view, then you are with me, if you disagree with my point of view you are against me.
I am hoping that the moderate Republican base, if you can call it that, will fracture from the hard right republican base; as will the moderate Democrats, and form a 3rd party--- so that the evangelicals are on their own. A true conservative party. And a true Theocracy party-- at least then when you vote on what a Congressman/woman stands for, you don't have to wonder if they have a ulterior agenda to push --- like, their religious beliefs into my religious philosophy. What part of the Constitution allows them to do that? and for that matter, what part of the Constitution gives conservatives/moderates/liberals the right to meddle in my Doctor visits? Especially if they are MEN? But I digress...
William F. Buckley was a great conservative; but he had little use for the uneducated and those that didn't believe in inquiring of their world. To be given propaganda without research was abhorrent to him. I'm GLAD Chris Buckley left NRO -- it will be nice to read his prose without all the other crap one has to wade thru to read it.
The Republican party has left all of us that want smaller government, less taxes, less regulation, and handed us over to the bible-beating theocracy conservatives that want to divide this nation-- if you don't believe/look like I do, then you aren't an American. What xenophobic, inflamatory rhetoric. Isn't religious freedom the reason that the pilgrims CAME to the new world? Did they not want the freedom to praise God in the way they wanted? And these so=called Christians now condemn anybody that doesn't believe in the 2nd coming? That's not Christianity, that's Racism!
